I just found this sweet game called StarMade. It is a lot like minecraft (it is actually based off of it) but it takes place in space. You can have space ships, build them up, make fighters have turrets and anything you could ever want. But be sure to make one fast, often pirates attack you!

The game is really cool, One of our ships is designed as a small carrier to hold many ships, it is large and slow but the fighters can act as scouts (on a multiplayer server it is somewhat like EVE.) There can be epic battles, many different types of weapons and weapon systems you can build. You could if you wanted to build turrets that need pilots or even fully automated ones. The game is almost endless. There are planets, shops, space stations, asteroids, enemy space stations and other cool shit.

Also resource management is an important thing too because if you have a ship with too small of a generator the shield generator will not recharge to full potential, same with any weapons systems, a singe large laser cannon will use a lot of energy but have high damage. Keep in mind everything is made of blocks (not all blocks are square thought, there are some half or triangular shapes) so the ship design is completely up to you and the way you shape your weapons/shields/gens will affect the way they work. There are also mining lasers and other stuff for the more passive people. You can make factions and even more random shit. The universe would take around 40000 thousand years to travel from one side to the other. (there are single player and multiplayer (internet and lan) settings)

Basically it is what would happen if EVE and Minecraft smacked together and had a babie. One smoking sexy hot babie!

Here is the link to the website to download the game (it is completely free with ALL features)
(keep in note it is in beta... don't expect the world, expect the galaxy!

Cube world needs a shit ton of work, and more than anything it needs a solid direction. That being said it could be really really good in the future.

*Edit* Oh god, did she really compare it to Eve?

I said there were some EVE like elements in the game, although it is not right to compare any two games of different genres, they are good for different reasons although the game has a multiplier feel in some cases like EVE online.
