Looks neat honestly, but the devs seem really un-reliable. I understand that the guy behind Garry's Mod is leading the project but the dev blog reads like a train wreck.

was a "dutch auction" with the price starting high and going to $0 over the course of an hour, now there are 500 copies available every day for a flat $20. totally worth the $20 and game is only alpha.

I don't really get the concept.
Is it supposed to just be fps minecraft or what? All I ever see in these videos are guys with sub machine guns shooting eachother through shacks or people walking around.

Supposed to be Dayz / Garry's Mod, it is made by the Garry's Mod creator. From the reading I've done it has massive balance issues currently (those that are already established dominate new players to the point of there being no gameplay for new players). The concept looks really fun though, and playing it on a lower population server would probably be really enjoyable.

Right now all the "endgame gear" aka Kevlar armor and M4 guns are really easy to obtain and craft. In the near future all of those items will be uncraftable, rare drops, and will degrade. The remaining weapons are all post apocalyptic guns like Pipe Shotguns, Junk Bolt Action Rifles, Hunting Bows, Pickaxes, etc. which make for a hell of a lot more fun in fights. Really fun game with a ton of potential, definitely worth $20.

Got Dayz standalone last night to play with Jekate and its so buggy as to be totally unplayable still (understandable its a public alpha).
Think I might try rust instead until it is cleaned up some.

I loaded all the linked Modules to Rust using OllyDBG..
After doing some research (Reading Anti-VAC discussions by smarter people then me on how VAC3 and VAC2 operate..) I can safely say I did not see the .tmp modules loaded during runtime. Only things like DXInput, GLUT, Mono and an assortment of other .dll's located in the Sys64 folder.
Also.. DayZ (Stand Alone), TF2, Dota2 blah blah all have the VAC Secured Statement on their Store Page.. Rust does not..
I would much prefer to play the game legit tho.. Altho.. the game being client side and Alpha.. I do find myself curious how things look under the hood..
EDIT:
Unity uses the GLUT wrapper instead of native OpenGL? Wat?
Curious about that.. I didn't think GLUT was that useful for fully fledged games..

I have rust, but I cant join any servers. It may be because of my slow internet. Not sure though. I have not even been able to connect to blizzard/any of their games because it times out before I can join.
