How do you host dedicated Nox servers? I have a dedicated server already, and would be more than happy to help revive Nox.

You have to run the NoX admin tool, since there are no command line only based nox servers I incorporated a feature into the admin tool where it will run nox and send all of the appropriate mouse clicks and movements to set up the game.

A bit hackish but unfortunately remote desktop connections don't let you view directx fullscreen with more then like 2 fps, even running it windowed you get like 5 fps, also you wouldn't be able to change settings.

Using the admin tool it will automate the set up of the server and the rest can be done through rcon.

Also anyone with a dedicated server to spare (IE it's not really running anything else) I would be happy to help offset the cost for it by moving our TF2 and CSS servers over to your dedicated and paying you a monthly fee to keep it there.

When I had the dedicated I ran a TF2 server, a CSS server, an ultima online server, and 6 NoX servers, all without any noticable lag.

That's kinda lame that more people weren't willing to donate. Well if you ever decide to get a dedicated server up again, I'll donate. and I know nolimit will donate.

"Nox servers do not require too much bandwidth or processing to run. I can host 2 dedicated servers on my 1.75 ghtz 512 ram amd with a 4000kbs download and 412kbs upload at a time without any latency changes"

I copied this from xhp.xwis.net

I currently have a vps I'm using for webhosting it has plenty of bandwidth.  Everything on it is good but I think it might be lacking in memory, are there any general specs for hosting a Nox server? And its a shame there aren't any terminal/console based dedicated servers....

support for nox is pretty much limited to the few helpful threads we have here. no more dedicateds, donations.

on the bright side nox2 is in development and im sure morden or maker wouldnt mind donations once its finished lol
