Sadly was not a joke, heh.

The problem was that I was not running nox as administrator. All better now though.

uhm, i got a small problem here.
When i tryed to play multiplayer with my cd-installed game, the game freezed at the end of downloading the patch. I thought maybe playing with your version would fix it, so i dl that. When trying to run your version (yes, i  uninstalled mine first) everything gets all blurry and weird, and not in a positive way.  huh

Anyone know what this is/how to fix it? All i wanna do is play this awesome game on the internet

Thanks

What does "blurry and weird" mean? Are you sure you didn't have a stroke?

Im quite sure i didnt
blurry in the way that it changes between the normal screen and something where everything is messed up maybe once per frame or so.... quite frustrating actually.
its impossible to screenshot because it only captures the normal screen sad

No offense, but it's not worth the time to download that.

You're probably unaware that Nox runs at 800x600 resolution on most of the screens which on larger monitors may seem blurry. The highest resolution you'll get is... 1024x768(?). The game is fairly dated, approaching a decade old, and will have various odd bugs/ticks on newer systems.

The display may have tearing too while you run around. It's not a big deal and is fairly hard to notice while you're actually doing something.

No offence taken, my bad not having the time to make it smaller.

What your saying is not the problem. Im aware that 600x800 ( well, actually 1024x768 ) may seem bad on my 1680x1050 monitor, but that is definitively not the problem.
My problem is most likely (what i think) something on my pc interfering with something in your version of nox. thought you might know what, but ill try to find it out myself instead.

Thanks for the help anyways, and actually taking the time

No it is just that the newer video card drivers for NVIDIA do not correctly display the game images without resizing them moderately in windowed mode. Not sure why, just how it is, generally these are the same drivers that do not allow for full screen playing of the game in the first place. Possibly it is just blitting it to a newer directx surface with slightly different color formats.

Nox is years and years old using straight directx 6/mmx technology, you aren't going to get complete backwards compatibility from newer systems and it will get worse as it ages and the video card manufacturers cease more and more of their testing on older software. I dealt with the fuzzyness even though it pisses me off.
