Hello recently I developed quite an effective strategy for dealing with enemy guilds, but first a little back story!

I first started playing this game in early spring and like most people I found a guild and started embarking on guild battles. Like most people (I assume) I chose my first guild based on name alone. Bombsquad. Sounded pretty cool and it was a new guild so I did not stick out as an uneducated buffoon. So I played and tried to learn the game as quickly as possible to be an asset to team and did a pretty good job, I was the first person in the guild to buy a guild class skill (heal). In a little bit of time I was made a guild officer which felt like a pretty solid achievement and all was well for a good amount of time. We played and played and after a few weeks were hovering between vanguard and alpha as many guilds do. We hovered for quite a while though, none of us were over level 150~ and most were iOS, level one guild class, barely anyone had even a helm of dragon power, ect.

Eventually the eternal limbo  wore on some people's patience and our original guild master quit. He put another guild officer in charge who took the responsibility in stride and did a great job of keeping people motivated and dispensing advice and we actually stayed in alpha long enough to get the alpha 10 banner. He and I talked on many aspects of leading the guild, Things seemed to be going well! But then came the day when our guild master didn't sign on. And the next day. And the next day.

Obviously talk among the members started to gear towards finding a solution to our absent guild master, one course of action was to consider a new guild and another more obvious decision was who should lead the guild. Eventually another officer in the guild was suggested by many to be the new replacement and I would have agreed fully if not for one fact. The nominated officer did not have any access to facebook and therefore could not change the banners from alpha to vanguard depending on the situation. A real deal breaker in my book. So as people cheered for the nominated officer I got on facebook and sent a message to the current and absent guild master asking how he was. A day went by and we got a response. He had been busy moving and didn't have time to play the game and the next day he logged onto the game and with little dialog made me the new guild master due to our friendship and his trust in me.

Now due to previous guild masters absence and my belief that I, too, could be in a situation where I might not be able to get on the game and lead the guild I decided to try something I thought would be a fantastic compromise. I got on facebook, registered a new account and promoted this new level 9 alt to the guild master. I then told the old guild master and many of the officers the email address and password with the idea that many people could share the guild master account so that power would not be stuck in one persons hands. To me it seemed like a perfect idea. Others agreed to roll with it. Others, however, including the previously nominated officer thought it was too risky. I'll admit that if someone mad with power would sign onto the account they could change the password effectively changing my socialist dream into an totalitarianism state but why would anyone do that? We all loved the guild, had a great time battling together and I could not see any reason for any of the officers to jeopardize the guild. The nominated officer would have nothing of it. He quit that same day. I private messaged him telling him I'd prefer it if he stayed and I was willing to make compromises but there was no turning back. He told me he didn't want to lead, he just wanted something new. He joined another guild and that was that. So for a few days we continued bouncing in between alpha and vanguard, the few people growing despondent turned into a group of people unhappy with the "lack of success".

One other officer especially didn't like my idea that we shouldn't have to call out targets during guild battles. It was my opinion that people should be able to choose the correct targets without being told, that they should be aware of whats happening in the battle and not have to rely on someone to tell them who to hit. Eventually the previous guild master returned.  He instantly noticed the unhappiness and asked if everyone would like him to be leader again. The idea was unanimous, even I thought he should lead again and the guild master position was once again given to him. He began to try to boost morale but the damage had been done.

The next couple of days he was absent again. People grew frustrated and demanded a leader. I was disappointed that my social plan was no longer in place and instead we were in the very situation that inspired the shared guild master account. Soon there was talk of leaving the guild to form a new guild with all the actives. By the time the guild master had returned, most people that had originally elected the nominated officer had left to join a new guild. Lead by none other than the nominated officer. I was asked to join but I declined. I was happy with Bombsquad, with our reputation as a guild and I was happy with all our members, those still around, those who had moved to a new guild and those who had stopped playing all together. Within a day or two the guild master once again handed me the leadership and left the guild for good. This time I was going to lead. No socialist party this time.

By this time in my castle age career I had quite a few alts. About 8 of them actually, 4 clerics each one on the cusp of getting guild class level 3. Slowly and surely they got that fantastic ability to heal on victories and I adjusted the gates accordingly. Pretty soon the guild had a few victories based purely on the fact that I could heal the whole gate at the last minute skyrocketing our score. It felt pretty good. I had also noticed that the new guild with the nominated officer had started to get their footing. Having as many alts as I did I figured I could stand to have one not in Bombsquad and instead join up with the new guild to see how they did and still battle with them like old times. I did not, however, tell them it was me...

So while leading Bombsquad and battling with them, I would step aside during those two hours and do some damage for the new guild. They were very motivated and were somewhat intolerant of inactivity in the guild and kept morale high with chanting and pride in their guild. I found it to be a bit excessive but to each his own. Eventually Bombsquad made it into alpha and stayed in alpha for a brief while. I had felt accomplished. I was getting burnt out with all my alts and the success was just the high point I needed to retire for a brief while. I didn't have any plans to go back to the game any time soon, most of my accounts were doing well for their classes and I had decent EQ. Eventually I picked a successor and decided to make a small guild for all my accounts to be placed in as a sort of time capsule in case I ever decided to start playing again. One thing I needed to do though was get ALL my accounts into that new unrated guild. Which meant leaving the new guild with my stealth account.

So the day came and in between battles I announced to the new guild I was quitting. The response was typical a mixture of questions and acceptance and good byes. But as a lover of drama I decided to reveal myself with my last words.

Instant hostility. I was called a spy and and all sorts of other terrible things and very quickly attacked, had my health destroyed and was kicked from the guild. But what I can only imagine a few people know is that even if you are kicked from a guild, you can still see the guild chat until you close the game or navigate to another place on the game. So I sat there and watched all the things said about me, without the ability (and sometimes desire) to defend myself. I didn't see what the big deal was, I helped the fight and win battles and its not like they had super secret information going on. I had battled with them before in bombsquad, too, they hadn't developed any secret strategies or revolutionary tactics. They were still the same schmucks who summoned battles of the dark legions to level guild class. So as I watched them vent their anger an idea occurred to me. If they got this mad after one of my accounts snuck into their guild, imagine how mad they would be if ALL my accounts snuck into their guild. Instantly I changed the names of most of my accounts said goodbye to bombsquad and set to work.

The first account was back in the guild within an hour of revealing myself. This was particularly great cause I could still see all the juicy stuff they were writing about me and could play dumb and goad them into saying more things. I go by the name Jew Banker in game so you can believe there was a bit of antisemitism going on. Over the next few days I got two more accounts in and gave each vaguely different personalities and by far my most favorite was the helpful, knowledgeable high level rouge account I had, "Bunbury". They seemed to like me, too, cause I was the only one in the guild who could do 300~ damage due to being an accelerated facebook rouge with Vincent gear. And after having been in a guild with these guys for as long as I've been playing castle age I knew what they wanted to hear and even a bit about them personally. Gaining their trust while I snuck other alts in would be easy. And that's when I got a way better idea for messing with those guys.

It was simple. The guild master couldn't change the banner from alpha to vanguard. He had to give someone else the guild master position, someone with a facebook account, so they could do it. Then they give it right back. I knew exactly what I would do. One of those days the designated banner switcher wouldn't be around, or would be afk (afp?) but I wouldn't. I would be there to change the banner for everyone. And having multiple accounts would really help me out. I could simply request banner changes when I knew the banner changer wasn't around. Then they would ask their new, trusty pal Bunbury to do it for them. So I waited and waited. Opportunities came and went, but sometimes the banner changer wasn't around and some people wanted to buy resistances with the 5% discount but the guilds master convinced them not worry about the meager discount and just fight one more battle for the coins. And then, about a week ago it happened.

About one week ago we were about to go to battle when on one of my accounts I announced to the guild chat that I was sooooo close to getting whirlwind. I was promised the alpha banner after the battle. We were in desperate need of whirlwind warriors and during the very next battle lost because of some walls that we couldn't get victories against. This compounded with the fact that I "didn't quite make enough guild coins to buy whirlwind without the alpha banner" caused an eagerness in the guild master. He asked the designated banner changer, someone who had left bombsquad with all the rest, to change the banner. Three times he got no reply. "Bunbury, pm me" he said and I knew it was time. He asked if I could change the banner to alpha for him so that people could buy things. Obviously I thought it was a good idea and within a few minutes I saw all those guild management options that only guild masters could see. I saw the arrows next to peoples names to promote and demote. I saw what I had to do.

My first order of buisness was to change my name so they would know it was me. "Jew Tyrant" it became. My second announcement was that the banner would not be changed. Instantly some people realized what had happened. It was very late at night so only a few diehards were around but they knew what was going on. Their guild master had given the position to a spy! They had absolutely no control of the guild, the guild they had all worked so hard to promote and fight for. The third thing I did was demote all the officers. They wouldn't even be able to invite people to the guild. I had cut off its ability to grow. They began talking to me, insulting me, questioning my age but it didn't matter. By the end of the night they were all going to be kicked out. Every last one of them. I had made my decision weeks ago. They would have to start over, join up with other people or quit. For the rest of the night I toyed with them, offered one chatty guy the position of guild master, told him I needed a right hand man to help me kick everyone from the guild. I had a great time. By the time I went to bed the entire guild had been cleaned out.

Since then I had gotten a few PMs from those kicked. They started up a new guild quite quickly and even went through the trouble of telling me what a favor I had done for them. They eliminated all their inactives because now only actives would bother joining back up and they even circumvented the guild level cap limit. Briefly. I offered my services to those who pm'd me, should they ever need more help improving their guild. I was met with mostly attacks, and have been attacked at least once each day. I've been told by inside sources that they had a rough patch trying to get out of bronze rank initially but they are back to vanguard now. Their numbers are not the same though, still haven't bounced back to the original 79 members, including my alts. They are now a little more cautious of who they let into the guild. I'm assuming they will be cautious for a very long while.

Aka you were butt hurt by the guild so you took revenge.. but at least you went through with ruining their guild instead of pussying out at the last minute.

I got along with them when they left and got along with them when they didn't know it was me, but when I realized how realistic my chances of actually destroying their guild was I decided to have fun.

Way to much investment for a video game, the way i see it video games are just a very brief escape and stress releaver. Then back to real life, and invest my time in something worthwhile like my career and studying. But that's just my opinion.
